Cancer In Smokers

One of the most serious by smoking consequences is cancer. Smoking is the main cause of the nearly thirty percent of the deaths related to cancer lung, esophageal, larynx, oral or oral or even bladder cancer. Lung cancer is one of the most difficult to treat both women and men, which is disappointing since most of these cases could have been prevented. Among the various types of cancer that exist, this type of cancer is the leading cause of death in men and the second leading cause of death by cancer in women. Only between twelve and fifteen percent of treatments for lung cancer they are really effective for curing patients. The remaining 85 percent is facing the serious consequences of their bad habit.

It can prevent lung cancer in more than 90 percent of patients diagnosed with this terrible disease. This should be a good reason to quit smoking now and avoid serious damage will cause the lungs if you still have the bad habit. Although there is still the risk of contracting lung cancer if cigar consumption does not decrease over time. The most common symptoms of this are difficulty breathing, cough, bleeding, weight loss, among others. When any of these symptoms occurs it may be too late, so I decide to make the effort to quit now and permanently. Another type of cancer caused by smoking is the bocal or oral cancer.

This may include cancer in the mouth, the lips, in the nasal cavity, salivary glands, in the tonsillar tissue, and even on the cheeks. This year, in the United States alone, it is estimated that thirty-four thousand people will be diagnosed with some type of oral cancer, and that more than half of these cases will cause the death. Chewing tobacco is a risk factor for oral cancer because the tobacco is in direct contact with mucous membranes. In India, it is very common to chewing tobacco so forty percent of all types of cancer, oral cancer is in that country. These figures are too high in comparison with the United Kingdom which is only around four percent. Keep in mind that does not mean that the only way of getting oral cancer is chewing tobacco. Cigar smoking is also responsible for almost seventy-five percent of the cases of contracting some type of oral cancer, since smoking causes irritation in the tissues through smoke and also causes elevation of temperature on these. The tissue irritation leads to the death of cells which causes oral cancer. Like lung cancer can also prevent oral cancer so you stop smoking now. However, cancer is only responsible for half of the deaths caused by smoking. It has shown that diseases of the heart, emphysema, as well as many other terrible diseases are caused by smoking on a regular basis.
